Missouri Casino Does Very Well
The
Missouri Gaming Commission released
their latest figures this week and it
looks like the Mark Twain Casino is
producing more income than anyone
expected. The LaGrange casino has
brought in more money than ever in
March, and officials hope that this is
just the beginning of a really long
trend.
The casino brought in $3,032,037 in
total revenue for March. This is the
most money the casino has brought in
since they opened in July of 2001. They
did, however, hit the $3 million mark
once before, but that was a while ago.
Slot machines are responsible for the
majority of that money, but any casino
worth their salt will tell you that is
the way it goes.
Slot machines usually make up the
majority of a casino’s revenue, whether
they have table games or not. The amount
of money that Mark Twain’s Casino’s slot
machines brought in was $32.68 million –
that is the “handle” or the amount of
money that customers put into the
casino, and does not include payouts.
Back in August of 2001, the slot
machines brought in $31.72 million,
which has been its record ever since –
but the casino was only open a month at
that point. Just from slot machines, the
casino brought in $2,794,394. Their hold
was 8.5%, and their hold ranks sixth
among all of Missouri’s casinos.
Funny enough, for a record month, the
casino’s table games actually went down
2% in their revenue, compared to the
year before. All told, Missouri’s
casinos brought in $148.6 million in
revenue for March 2007.
