Machines and Bingo Machines are
Basically the Same
Many
states allow tribes to bring in bingo
machines, saying that they are not slot
machines, and therefore they are allowed
in their state. The tribes don’t mind
because they are basically being allowed
to operate a slot machine in a state
that doesn’t legally allow them. They
call them bingo machines, but today’s
electronic machines are very much like
the same slot machines that you find
when you go to Las Vegas or Atlantic
City.
Now, don’t get me wrong, the tribes
would make more money with the actual
slot machines than they make with the
bingo machines, but the bingo ones still
bring them in lots of money. Plus, they
really do look like they are slot
machines.
Today’s machines have a bingo machine
that comes up, and is then replaced with
traditional slot machine imagery. The
main difference between the bingo
machines and the slot machines is that
when players are at slot machines they
are playing against the machine. With
bingo machines, the players are actually
playing against each other, but they
don’t necessarily know that.
Bingo was originally called beano, and
has been around for nearly a century.
They used to play on bingo cards, now
they play on bingo machines. Even the
names have changed for bingo halls are
now called “bingosinos” and have become
increasingly popular across the nation.
They are made to look like slot
machines, so if the experts have a hard
time figuring them out, you know that
regular people will think they are just
ordinary slot machines.
But with tribe opening more and more of
these bingo casinos, and lawsuits
against the new electronic machines not
holding up in court, it seems that
unless the Supreme Court steps forward
and says something about them, these
pseudo slot machines are going to
continue to proliferate.
