Machine Company Hires Local Muscle
The
makers of Moxie Mania are looking to
bring their slot machines to areas
across the country, and are hiring local
law offices to help them do that. For
example, they have decided that they
would like to bring their slot machine
like game to New York, so they are going
to start in Buffalo and make their
headquarters there.
They are hiring local attorneys to help
them plead their case to bring in the
games – and to help them sell them to
locals. They would like to see the slot
machine type games in bars and clubs
across the state, and know that the best
way to do that is to start locally to
gain support.
The Pace-O-Matic games will bring in
millions of dollars for the Atlanta
based company as well as the state that
they are located in. They were legal in
Ohio until the state made them illegal.
Before doing so the slot machine games
were bringing in roughly $1,000 a week
per machine, or $4 million a week for
all of the games combined.
This time they have hired the Buffalo
legal team Hurwitz & Fine to make their
case to the state of New York. They have
already met with city lawyers in
Buffalo, as well as the attorneys of the
State Liquor Authority in Albany. So far
they have received positive responses,
although obviously nothing is set in
stone.
They have an uphill battle however, as
many local do not want to see casinos or
slot machines in the area. A lawsuit has
been filed to stop the Seneca National
from bringing in a Buffalo Creek Casino.
They say that even though the company
refers to them as amusement games, they
play like slot machines. They look like
them, play like them, and pay out like
them – and to many that meets the very
definition of a slot machine and that is
all they need to know.
