Meadows Adding More Slot Machines
The
Meadows Casino and Racetrack is adding
in more slot machines to those they
already have. They have been working on
expanding their ideas and plans for a
permanent casino, but now they have
decided to expand the number of slot
machines that they are going to offer as
well.
Their original plan called for 3,000
slot machines, but now they want more
than that amount. They are now looking
at adding 4,200 slot machines to the
350,000 square foot casino. They are
also making other changes.
There will now be a bowling alley on the
bottom floor of the slot machine parlor,
as well as a new parking garage where
the hotel was going to be. The casino is
planning on all of their changes being
done in roughly one year, with a spring
2009 opening.
Once the casino is opened, there are to
be about 750 permanent jobs. This does
not include all of the jobs that are
being created for the construction of
the slot machine parlor. Locals are
excited about the boon this will be for
the local economy, especially since it
will cost roughly $155 million to
complete.
The slot machine casino will be located
just south of Pittsburgh, and has
already gotten permission to expand the
casino by 40% over where they had
originally decided to expand. With the
addition of more slot machines, they are
bound to make back their investment in
no time.
