Tribe
Ready to Open Casino
The Agua
Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is
ready to open the doors of their new
$300 million casino in the heart of the
Coachella Valley. This comes as exciting
news to the valley, as they know that
there will be a nice economic payoff for
them as well as for the tribe.
John Soulliere, President and Chief
Executive of the Coachella Valley
Economic Partnership said that with the
new casino and hotel coming in they were
looking at a very positive economic
forecast. He said that they depend
greatly on the tourism dollar and the
new resort will undoubtedly bring in
more people to the valley.
The new Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa
in Rancho Mirage will be the tallest
hotel east of the Banning Pass, and
according to the tribe it is a “triumph”
for them. They see it as a “dream
realized” and know that this will help
out their community tremendously.
The new resort will have more options
for dining, shopping, slot machine
playing, etc. They will also have many
options for entertainment as they are
adding in a $55 million 2,000 seat
headliner theatre showroom. They are
truly pulling out all of the stops.
The hotel is magnificent as well – and
the location of the resort couldn’t be
more perfect. They are close enough to
those Californians who want to drive,
while being far enough away for many to
consider staying at the hotel and
bringing in more tourist dollars.
