FBI
Slot Machine Bust
There is
a National motorcycle gang that goes by
the name of the Devils Deciples – and
yes they spell it wrong on purpose. They
have been going about their business for
a long time, but that does not mean that
the Federal Bureau of Investigations has
not been keeping an eye on them. In
fact, the FBI has been building a case
against this group for a while, and it
finally paid off for them.
FBI agents have arrest eighteen members
of the motorcycle gang for illegal
activities including slot machine
running and drug trafficking. The FBI
says that they knew the group was up to
illegal activities, but took their time
gathering evidence against the group so
that when they made their move the
charges would stick. Among those
implicated and arrested in the illegal
activities was the National President of
the club.
Agents made arrests while seizing
illegal slot machines, and other
paraphernalia along the way. They ran a
series of arrests in both Macomb and St.
Clair counties, and among those arrests
was the National President, Jeff Garvin
“Fat Dog” Smith – of Mount Clemens. He
has since appeared in court and was
released on $10,000 unsecured bond. All
of those accused are expected to be
released on bond as well.
Smith is facing the largest group of
charges, from the illegal slot machines,
to using the telephone to traffic drugs,
to illegally possessing body armor after
having been convicted of a violent
felony. The US Attorney’s Office says
that they are going after Smith with
both barrels. Over the past six years,
they have taken from the group 42 guns,
three bulletproof vests, 3,000 rounds of
ammunition, 55 pounds of marijuana, 1.5
pounds of methamphetamines, 1,000
prescription pain killers and 15 illegal
slot machines.
