Wants Money from Gambling
The Nevada gambling laws are not free to come up
with. In fact, there is a lot of money
and time spent trying to figure out how
the laws and regulations will fit with
the way that their government sees it
playing out. The Gaming Control Board
says that it is very expensive to police
the state and make sure that everyone is
following the rules and regulations the
same way – and they want someone else to
bear the brunt of that expense. Instead
of the state continuing to pay to keep
things the way that they should be, they
think that the casinos themselves should
have to pay for it.
They
have introduced new legislation that
would make it a requirement for the
gaming industry to pay for that
regulation and enforcement of
Nevada’s laws.
They think that if the casino and slot
machine manufacturers pony up the $32
million budget that the money they are
currently spending on it can go towards
something else in the budget. Not only
that, but if the slot machine companies
are spending their own money to regulate
themselves they are more than likely to
start doing it with less prodding, thus
cutting down on the amount of money that
they are spending each year.
The
legislature has an $800 million budget
gap and they have to find a way to cut
back on expenditures. One of those ways
is to simply find ways of funding areas
that cannot be cut – and using the slot
machine manufacturers to take this over
is pure genius.
