Let’s face facts. Many people think that they know how to handle a slot machine. They say that there are certain tricks of the trade that only “professional” slot machine players know. One of the biggest things to remember that the house, or the casino, always has the advantage. They get more money than you do, and if they didn’t they wouldn’t have the slot machines in their casinos. They are programmed to pay out somewhere between 83-99% of the money they take in – it varies depending on the casino and the state.

All slot machines are different. Even if one looks like another one, it could be completely different inside. Today’s slot machines have a series of processors inside of them that determine when the machine pays out. Those processors are running through various combinations all the time, even when they are not being played.

When the reels finally stop spinning, you are seeing the end result of all of that processing of number combinations. You do not have anything to do with the amount or way that the slot machine operates or pays out. It is determined randomly by whenever you put the coin in the slot and push the button.
