Machine Repair
Slot
machines are bound to break, so it goes
without saying someone will need to fix
them when they do. However, you don’t
hear of many places to fix them when
something goes wrong.
However, the Sheridan Technical Center
is now offering classes in how to fix
slot machines. The Hollywood, Florida
school is the first to offer a state
approved course in slot machine repair.
Their first nine week class has 25
students with the next session starting
in October. They only allow those who
are at least 21 years of age take the
class, and you cannot have a criminal
record either.
The class costs $651 – which is really
nothing for what could prove to be a
very lucrative career. With so many slot
machines going into the state, and the
possibilities of them becoming legal at
places like race tracks and Jai Alai,
there will be ample opportunities for
their students to put their skills to
work.
The Seminole Indian tribe says that with
them installing a total of 15,000 slot
machines, there will be a large demand
for qualified technicians. They said
that those that are graduates from the
program could be earning as much as $18
an hour.
