Slot machines in Atlantic City are not doing as well as they would have hoped by now. The fact of the matter is that you ask any casino employer, owner, manager, etc. and they will tell you that the biggest money makers out there are the slot machines. That is why there are so many of them in each casino. Could you imagine three thousand poker tables in a casino? No, and not just because they would take up an extraordinary amount of room – but because they just don’t make the money that slot machines do.
 
But with the recession, Atlantic City casinos saw their slot machines go the way of the online casino. But as things started to pick up again and many casinos in other parts of the country started seeing an increase in their revenues, AC expected to be on that list. But instead, they have seen their revenues drop even more.
 
Some say that because of the added competition – and almost all of it coming from brand new casinos – they cannot compete as well as they used to. As the economy and times got harder, the casinos started laying off people like maintenance and security. Now people don’t feel as safe playing their slot machines and the casinos are not as well maintained as they used to be.
 
Online slot machine players have now realized that they can play online and save themselves a lot of money from travel and hotel, etc. and they happen to like their surroundings. With a drop last month of another 13%, AC had better figure out something to get their slot machine customers back.
