Getting Ready
for a Peek
The anticipation
has been growing for Pittsburgh
residents as they eagerly anticipate the
opening of the new slot machine casino
that has been under construction. First
the media will get their peek at the new
slot machines and then they will allow
the general public to get a gander at
the place.
The first few days are not just good for
business in getting the word out, but
they are also good as they act as a
practice run for their employees. The
state requires that before the slot
machines can be running for the general
public first they have to be running for
practice. Therefore, they will hold
their media day where the press will get
to see the slot machines up close and
personal, and then they will have two
days for charity.
Because they cannot earn any money
during the practice days they donate all
of the proceeds to these invitation only
events to charity. Gamblers that get
invited not only like the fact that they
can play the slot machines before
everyone else but they know that the
money they spend is going to a good
cause.
The media tour will start 10 am on
Tuesday at the Rivers Casino, and the
practice days will be August 5th and
7th. The Gaming Control Board will be at
all of the events to make sure that
everything is just so and so that they
can give a true recording of how their
employees did. If they pass then they
can open the casino on August 9th at
noon.
