A.C. Has More than Just Slot Machines to Offer

With the opening of the first slot machine casino in PA, many did not seem to notice, or care, all that much. People in Bensalem may be very excited at the prospect of having slot machines in their backyard, but when you go to Atlantic City, you will find that there were quite a few Pennsylvanians playing the slot machines and not caring that their state now offered them.

Those from PA say that although it is nice that they now offer slot machines, AC offers so much more. They come for the slot machines, but they also come for the entertainment, the beaches, the boardwalk, the buffets – all things that will not be offered at the slot machine casinos in PA.

Some said that they might split their time, maybe go play PA’s slot machines sometimes, and play NJ’s other times, but most say that variety is the spice of life. They say they can go to a racetrack and play slot machines, or they can come to AC and get a whole experience. They say that they can spend their time at different slot machine casinos – they aren’t relegated to just one. They can go to Harrah’s if they want, or maybe they feel like playing the slot machines at the Borgata – these are not options in PA.

"In the long run, we think Pennsylvania slot parlors will actually help grow the casino business in New Jersey," said Maureen Siman, VP of Marketing for the Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority. "Bringing [slot machines and] gaming closer to home in Pennsylvania will expose more people to it, who will eventually want to take that ride down the Atlantic City Expressway to see what real gambling is all about."
