Can Slot Machines be Guaranteed?

International Gaming Technology is asking players to believe that slot machines can come with a guarantee. That is they are asking them to play “guaranteed play” slot machines, where they cannot lose more than they have already played. The idea is that a player would purchase a limited number of spins on the slot machine, and if they win, they win. If they don’t and they end up with a negative balance on the slot machine, they walk away owning nothing more.

IGT thinks this is just the beginning of what slot machines can offer. They think that the slot machines that seem so “cutting edge” today will not offer any appeal to tomorrow’s gamers. They think that slot machines are going to have to step it up if they want to keep their customers, which is very important to casinos. Slot machines are the number one money maker for casinos, so they have to keep people coming in.

A spokesperson for the company said that they are seeing a marriage of sorts of slot machines and video games, where the player will influence the outcome of the game. At the Gaming Expo some had already started making slot machines like that, with WMS gaming leading the pack. They have a “sensory immersion” slot machine to the tune of “Top Gun” that is expected to be on casino floors next year.
