Mohegan
Sun Expanding Slot Machines
The
Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut
has announced that they are expanding
their slot machine casino. They are
already one of the world’s largest slot
machine casinos, and with the new $740
expansion they have planned, they will
be adding in poker and the House of
Blues. Many are very excited at the
prospect.
The
slot machine casino is expecting to add
another 2,000 employees to the 10,000
they already have, as well as a new
hotel, a House of Blues themed hotel and
music hall. There will also be a
restaurant and store added as well. The
slot machine casino currently brings in
roughly $1.5 billion in revenue a year,
as well as 35,000 visitors daily. The
slot machine casino is calling the new
expansion “Project Horizon.”
They
believe that by adding poker games in
again they can increase the number of
young people that come. They removed the
poker games initially to make room for
more slot machines. However, since poker
has become so popular the slot machine
casino thought it might be best to add
the tables back in.
The
Mohegan Sun currently gives 25% of their
slot machine revenue to the state, so
any additional slot machines they end up
bringing in only means more money for
everybody.
