Wants Slot Machines Banned
Moscow
authorities are not fooling around when
it comes to slot machines and gambling.
They are tightening the noose around the
slot machines neck and are confident
that they are going to get a hold of the
gambling business in their country.
Authorities are certain that they will
be able to have all slot machine parlors
with an area of less than 3,000 square
meters closed, as well as all clubs with
slot machines with an area less than 200
square meters, closed by July 1st of
next year. They are determined that if
they remove the smaller slot machine
casinos, they will eliminate much of the
problem gambling.
Then for phase two of their plan, any
casino that has at least 30 gaming
tables and 60 slot machines – along with
some other accoutrements, will be able
to stay open, but only if they are
relocated to one of the four gambling
zones that have been approved – and they
must be relocated by July 1, 2009.
All slot machine parlors, etc, whose
licenses expire before January 1st of
next year will be denied renewal. All
slot machine and gambling licenses that
expire after that date may continue to
“calmly operate” up until the July 2009
date.
