UK House
of Commons Warns About Slot Machines and
Online Gambling
The UK
Gambling Act is enforcing slot machine
and gambling regulations, and the US is
imposing prohibition on online slot
machines and gambling – thus forcing the
UK House of Commons to discuss their
place in the gambling industry. Many
think that they are gearing up for an
all out war against the slot machine and
gambling industry, just because of the
amount of time they spent on their
arguments regarding the topic.
MP for
Wirral South, Benjamin Chapman, said
that the 1968 Gambling Act was outdated
and ignored, and felt that something had
to be done about it. He said that with
slot machine and gambling growing the
way it has – online and in actual
casinos – they could be slated for
trouble headed their way. He also
pointed out that with the US banning
online slot machines and gambling, all
that was left was for those gambling
businesses to now train their sights on
the UK.
He said
that the UK needed to take steps to
avoid slot machine and gambling
establishments from heading here en
masse. He said that although he did not
agree with the US decision for an all
out ban of online slot machines and
gambling, he did think that restrictions
needed to be put into place. Chapman
sees the passage of the UK Gambling Act
the tip of the iceberg.
