Slot Machines at Poconos Prove Popular

If there was any doubt that the state of Pennsylvania made a good choice in bringing in slot machines; that doubt has been dispelled by the popularity of the slot machines within the state. In the Pocono Mountain area alone, the availability of slot machines has completely changed the way that tourism is run in the area.

There are two casinos in the area, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, which is located in Wilkes-Barre and the Mount Airy Casino Resort in Mount Pocono. Both have their slot machines up and running and they are both already hugely successful in terms of revenue as well as popularity. People have come by the droves to see what slot machines they have and how the casinos look – it is no wonder they are doing well.

The biggest difference between the two slot machine casinos is that Mount Airy is a stand alone facility and has a on site hotel, and it is a better looking casino. The Mohegan Sun is much drabber looking than most, but it does have the claim to fame that they were the first one to have their slot machines up and running.

That is not to say that the Mohegan Sun doesn’t have amenities, for it does. They have a food court and a high end restaurant, etc. it just is not as visually pleasing as other places are. Sources say that they are planning on bringing it more up to date, but that they had to wait so long to get their licensing process completed they ended up with really just the basics on it.

They have chosen to keep the temporary facility or now, and then build a new slot machine casino instead. The facility should be completed some time next year.
