3D
Casino
As if
slot machines were not already
considered exciting enough, now
International Game Technology has
released a new 3D slot machine that is
bound to be a hit at whatever casinos it
ends up at. In this case it seems to be
the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino.
With the addition, they will become the
first casino in Southern California to
bring in the hugely anticipated slot
machines.
The IGT Reel Depth slot machine has a
software program that gives it
multilayer display technology, which
basically means that they have layered
to or more liquid crystal displays that
provide for the slot machine a 3D image.
Because of the way it is created, you
can see the 3D images, but not need to
use the 3D glasses that are so often
associated with the imagery.
When you look at the slot machine,
instead of seeing the traditional screen
of ringing bells, or flashing lights, or
reels simply turning, you will see
various animated characters depending on
the one you are playing. These three
dimensional characters will pop up on
the screen and put on a show for the
player.
Not only are the slot machines more
entertaining than the older versions,
but they are cost effective for the
casinos as well. Instead of the casinos
having to budget for replacing glass on
the machines, changing reel strips or
removing the machines from the area, or
the floor – it is all handled by
programmers now. They digitally operate
the slot machines and they will be able
to change the content of the machine
simply by changing the program.
