Some
Benefit No Matter What
Pleasantville, New Jersey, slot machine
maker AC Coin and Slot is not worried
about the current economic crisis. As a
matter of fact, as far as they are
concerned, business is booming. They say
that even though the economy is in
terrible shape and that the casinos
aren’t making as much money as they
usually do, that they are doing just
fine.
They say that they have seen it before
where the economy takes a downward turn
and people don’t play as much slot
machines as before, but it always turns
itself around. They say that “the
operators usually figure it out.” They
seem impervious to the trend as they
gear up to boost production of their
slot machines by 30% next year.
They say that there is always room for
more slot machines, more ideas of ways
to play. Jeff Seelig, AC Coin’s CFO says
that their only goal is to make the best
slot machines in the country. They have
to create slot machines that make their
casinos a lot of money, and thus they
will buy more.
But they aren’t completely free of the
economic woes, as they had to lay off 30
employees this year, although Seelig
says that this is an attempt to get
leaner and more efficient. The family
business is currently in their 30th year
of operations, and is not showing any
signs of stopping.
The amount of gaming that is out there
has allowed the slot machine
manufacturer to put their slot machines
in more than 280 casinos across the US,
Canada and the Caribbean.
