States Taking
Big Steps in Gambling
Across
the United States
you see the various states and how they
react to slot machines and gambling. You
really only have three kinds of states –
those that allow slot machines, those
that don’t allow slot machines, and
those that want them and are in some
sort of process of moving from not
having them to having them. Many of
those states that have slot machines say
that they are better prepared for the
additional expenses that come from a
poor economy – while others say that
they were not prepared for how much they
would lose from the money they were
counting on.
Some
states are trying to get slot machines
up and running but just seem to be
having a harder time getting them going.
This is where
Maryland
falls into. The state has approved slot
machines but it appears that every where
that they try and bring them in there
ends up being some sort of problem with
them.
Maryland
is having that problem. Their voters
approved slot machines but they have
been thwarted at every twist and turn
and still don’t have any up and running.
They are hoping that the new year allows
them to finally get some running so that
they start getting some slot machine
revenue. With a zoning measure finally
being approved in Anne Arundel
County is looks like they
might be right.
Maine
is another one that is working on their
slot machine industry. They have one
legalized slot machine casino and now
residents are pushing for more. They
would like to see a statewide referendum
on the ballots next year allowing slot
machines to be played.
