Winning Streak
Ahead?
Ask any casino owner
and they will tell you that the economy
is turning around. They will tell you
how consumers are going to start
gambling again in droves and how they
are ready for them. Many of them think
that next year is going to be a stellar
one for the casino industry and they are
excited by the prospects.
However, for right
now, the slot machines are not humming
the way that they normally do, and the
players are not spending the money that
they normally do at the tables. We are
in a recession and people are spending
money on things like food and
electricity – they are not spending it
at the slot machines. But this is about
to change according to the industry.
In fact, some of the
most optimistic players in all of this
are the slot machine manufacturers.
While state after state turns to slot
machines to solve their budgetary woes,
the slot machine manufacturers keep
supplying them with everything they
need. International Game Technology is
still the slot machine industry leader,
and they say that while many other
companies out there are going under they
are still going strong.
Some of the slot
machine manufacturers say that they are
not seeing necessarily the large numbers
because many casinos are choosing to
hold onto the slot machines that they
currently have, but they are still
seeing increases in their numbers
because of the additional locations that
are not offering them. Penn National
Gaming says that they didn’t cut back on
any of their “capital expenditure” as
they knew that eventually they would see
it all come back to them.
