Erie Slot Machine Casino Getting Closer
to Opening
Presque Isle Downs has been trying to
get the go ahead to be up and running,
but so far their slot machines have
remained quiet. They were having some
problems with the Pennsylvania Gaming
Board, but it looks as if they are going
to be able to get past all of their
issues.
The slot machine casino is now one step
closer to being the fourth casino to
open in the state of Pennsylvania, which
is very exciting for them. Orginally
they were planning on opening mid
February, but the delays from the Gaming
Board pushed back their opening date.
The state’s Supreme Court has ruled that
they will now review the order that gave
them their slot machine license, so now
their legal obligations are in order.
That was holding them up because they
could not get their permanent slot
machine license until it was cleared up.
The gaming board is swearing in their
seventh member and filling the empty
seat, which was also holding them up.
Gary Sojka will be the newest member of
the Gaming Board.
Depending on how things go, they could
open this week, but first they have to
have the board’s approval on several
items, and they have to pass their test
nights. Once all of that is completed,
PA will have another slot machine casino
to spend their money at. The Meadows in
Washington County is scheduled to be the
next slot machine casino opening.
