Old Casinos Want Slot Machines as Well

With the UK government approving all of the slot machine casinos that they did last week, many of the existing casinos are upset in what they feel is completely unfair. They say that the new casinos will be allowed to bring in more slot machines than they are currently allowed, which will put them at a disadvantage. The older casinos are currently prepping to bring legal proceedings against the government saying that they have just put them at risk for continuing business.

There are companies such as Rank, Gala and Stanley who have hundreds of casinos in the UK say that the amount of slot machines they are allowed is unfair. The new slot machine casinos can have up to 150 slot machines, with the supercasino allowed up to 1,250 slot machines. The older casinos are only allowed 20 slot machines maximum.

Slot machines may be the leading cause of gambling addiction, but they are also the biggest money maker for any casino, and the older casinos know that if they don’t have as many to offer their customers as the newer ones do, that they will lose their customers. They say that it is unfair competition, and they want something done about it.

They liken it to opening a new pub – you have your pub and a new one opens across the street but they are allowed to serve lager but you can’t. They say it is the same thing.
