Slot Machines or Lottery – Just Two Gambling Options

For those who like to gamble, sometime diversification is the best way to go. Some states offer the lottery, others like slot machine, still yet some like table games or the horses. No matter what your choices, it seems that one does not necessarily take from another.

For example, if your state offers lottery and they add slot machines, that does not mean that they won’t have enough players to play the lottery. In fact, in some cases it is just the opposite. In New York, there were concerns that the lottery would lose players once the slot machines came into the tracks. However, that was not the case. They actually had an increase in sales of 7%.

Same case with the Pennsylvania Lottery – they increased sales once the slot machines were legalized. Some say it is due to the fact that each casino is required to offer lottery tickets at their locations, but others just say it is comparing apples and oranges. Those that play lottery won’t go rushing off to start playing slot machines instead – it is just a horse of a different color.
