Slot Machine Malfunction
It
seems that there are a lot of slot
machines running amuck lately, with
story after story of people winning the
jackpot – only to be told moments later
that they didn’t. Some of this is to be
expected with all of the new casinos and
slot machines that have been popping up
lately.
One major thing to remember, however,
that if there is any sort of malfunction
on the slot machine, the casino does not
have to pay you. There is usually a
little sticker on each and every slot
machine that says “malfunctions void all
jackpots and pays” and every casino has
it.
The latest takes place in Oklahoma where
Diana Smith was playing the Cool Cats
video slot machine. She thought she had
won the million dollar jackpot on the
slot machine, only to be told by a
casino official that she had not won.
According to the slot machine she had
won a “special win” that totaled $1.3
million.
The casino offered her two buffet
tickets initially, and then $6,500
instead. The casino says she did not win
it on the slot machine, but offered it
to her as a “customer care benefit.”
Smith is waiting to see what the report
from American Gaming System says to see
what actually happened.
