Penn National has finally opened their casino and many say that it is about time. They say that the planning and construction, etc. of the slot machine casino has taken longer than it took to build our country. Are they exaggerating? Absolutely, but they do have a point.

The Hollywood Casino at Penn National has 2,020 slot machines in their five story facility, and it looks as though they spent every penny on it. Most everyone who has had a chance to get out to the casino has the same reaction – that it is absolutely amazing.

The biggest surprise is that the tribe was able to pull off such a feat in the middle of pretty much nowhere. Expectations ranged from a large warehouse with no windows to a nice enough building, but still not what they got. The slot machine casino has truly brought “Hollywood” to Pennsylvania.

They were also amazed that they weren’t done yet. That they were still adding on and that when completed there was going to be four casual restaurants, plus a steak house, sports bars and buffets. But the real draw is the ability to play the slot machines. They range in price from one penny on up, and for many that is exactly how they like it.

The draw of the slot machine is not a new one, but it is certainly a powerful one. People used to travel the world over to play the slot machines, and now that they are fairly commonplace, it may not seem like a big deal- but they still are. More than one player has lost it all on the one armed bandit, and still others have made their fortunes.
