The two states are so close to each other it is no wonder that they end up being in a battle to get the most slot machine revenue from local residents, but that is exactly what is happening in Delaware and Pennsylvania. The two are battling over the slot machine players that used to go to Delaware Park in Delaware and are now going to Chester Casino in Pennsylvania.

Harrah’s new slot machine casino is bound to pull clients away from the Delaware site, especially initially when people are looking to see what the new casino has to offer. Delaware Park knew that this would happen, but they also know that they have a lot going for them that Chester does not.

Chester needed the slot machines to bring in more traffic and revenue to their town, but it also brought them jobs which were needed even more. The fear some have is that some of the jobs at Delaware Park will not be needed now if they start showing less income.

Delaware Park officials are not worried about that yet because they know that they offer free drinks and Chester does not – and in slot machine world that is priceless information. They have slot machines and many of the perks that Chester has as well, but free drinks are probably going to be the clincher for many of their clients.

Chester is newer though which will entice many, and it has restaurants, shopping, etc., even though it does not have electronic gaming. What it may ultimately come down to though in the long run is which one is closer to players’ homes.
