Police
Say Slot Machines are Still a Problem
Nebraska
police say that slot machines are still
an issue for them as they are
continuously finding illegal ones in
bars across the state. They say that
illegal slot machine gambling is against
the law in the state but that does not
stop anyone from participating, nor does
it stop them from offering it.
Police say that they are constantly on
the lookout for slot machines as they
know that they are out there and that
there is no attempt from those that have
them to get rid of them. Just last week
police say that they had to seize five
illegal slot machines from the Nebraska
Sports Bar & Grill in McCook. They say
that the same say they seized two more
slot machines from Macke's Sports Bar &
Grill in Cambridge.
Then again, they removed two more slot
machines from Grand Island's Fonner Keno
Casino & Sports Lounge at Fonner Park
and police say that it is becoming more
the norm than the exception for bars to
offer slot machines to their patrons to
bring in more money for their
establishments.
They say that there is a slot machine
that is out there and being tested by
the Nebraska Charitable Gaming Division
that could be legal if it passes.
However, it will be only used for
charity gambling, not across the board.
They say that slot machines are illegal
in Nebraska and there are no plans to
change that sentiment any time soon as
residents have made it very clear that
they are not interested.
