Raynham Park Could Get Slot Machines

Raynham Park could be getting a new lease on life. It is entirely possible that they could be getting both slot machines as well as a new train station which would do wonders for them. With the latest change in the government, it seems quite likely that both the slot machines and the trains stand a real chance of happening for them as the old regime may have been against it but they are not.

The recent election of House Speaker Robert DeLeo, who is a supporter of expanding slot machines and gambling in the state, will go a long way towards getting them what they want. What they want is the passage of a bill that would expand gambling so that there are now slot machines at the state’s four racetracks.

A few weeks ago Rep. David Flynn submitted the bill to add the slot machines, and DeLeo has said that he is open to the idea. If it passes not only would Raynham Park get the slot machines but so would Plainridge Racecourse, Suffolk Downs and Wonderland Greyhound Park. All of the tracks are waiting to see what happens for they would all like to see slot machines at their locations.

They know that with DeLeo having one of the tracks in his district he will be more “amenable” to bringing in slot machines for his constituents. State officials say that if they do bring in slot machines it won’t have any bearing on their plans to possibly bring in a train station as well.
