Slot Machines
and Debt
There
is a reason that so many people are
against slot machines. They are
considered highly addictive and you get
very little pay out from them. A casino
might have a great slot machine pay back
rate but most people will not really see
that win. But the games are designed to
make you think that you almost won, thus
keeping people coming back time and time
again in order to play them. They say
that the amount of money that goes into
slot machines is ridiculous – which can
be seen as they are the biggest money
makers in any casino.
They
have been described as the “crack
cocaine” of gambling, which is a fairly
accurate description. They are truly of
an addictive nature, and those that find
themselves addicted quite often find
themselves in a lot of debt as well.
There are many reasons why someone gets
into debt, but if you are addicted to
slot machines this is probably why. Some
get so desperate to play them that they
will steal from their employers, friends
and family to feed their addiction.
There
are gambling treatment programs out
there, but many slot machine players
find that they are not very helpful for
them as they have a different psyche
than other gamblers do. They are more
about sitting there for hours on end
putting in a coin and pulling a handle
or pushing a button than they are about
strategy like you would be if you were a
poker player.
It can
be tough to stop playing the slot
machines, and many say that they find it
helpful to literally move away from
them. Otherwise they say that they just
can’t stop. The amount of debt that they
are in does not matter – because they
are sure that they are going to win and
that they are going to solve all of
their problems.
