Revenue Continues to Drop
The
slot machine revenue across the
United States
continues to drop and some are finding
it harder to bear than others are. There
are many that find that their slot
machines are just not performing as well
as they used to, before the economy
dropped, and some are worried about what
this means for the future.
Atlantic City and Nevada have both recorded record lows in slot machine
revenues for their states, and now
Connecticut
is as well.
They
have reported that the slot machine
revenue at Foxwoods and the Mohegan Sun
are down much lower than they were
before, and they are just waiting for
the economy to turn as they know that
their numbers will start to go up again.
According to the state, their slot
machine revenues for the state of Connecticut and for the month of January are
down from last January as well as the
previous month.
Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at
Foxwoods reported a total slot machine
revenue of $51.6 million which is down
2.5% from same time last year. The
Mohegan Sun reported 1% down in slot
machine revenues, showing a profit of
$61.7 million. They say that this is
down 7% from the previous month’s slot
machine wagering.
The
casinos are responsible for paying a
portion of their slot machine revenues
to the state, and the state uses those
monies to pay for things that they might
not be able to cover otherwise. But with
the casinos bringing in less slot
machine revenue, they are faced with the
dilemma of not having enough to pay for
those programs.
