It is Tough to Figure Out Slot Machine Gamblers 

There have been quite a few studies on slot machine gamblers, and the only thing that they can agree upon is that they are tough to study. There have been many that tried, but the latest report actually addresses the fact that it is difficult to study them. The report comes from Mark Griffiths of Nottingham Trent University and Jonathan Parke of Salford University, and they spent 10 years trying to figure out the psyche of the slot machine player. 

They have released a study titled “Slot Machine Gamblers – Why Are They So Hard to Study?” and upon its release they were inundated with other professionals who agreed. They said that they have a few theories as to why. First they think that is has to do with their level of commitment and focus to slot machines. They become so engrossed in the slot machines that they will literally miss meals and use things like catheters so that they don’t have to take toilet breaks.  

Slot machine gamblers also really like their privacy so they don’t like to give up much of their information. They said that they have a tendency to be dishonest in the amount of time that they spend at the slot machines, which again, makes it very difficult to find out how they tick. They also said that slot machine gambler seem to always know when someone is spying on them. For as engrossed as they get, they have the ability to notice someone watching them – and watching the subject out in the field is one of the biggest parts of research.
