Bet Monitoring System Similar to Slot Machine Concept

The National Council of Legislators from Gaming States recently took note of a pari-mutuel monitoring system that would be on par with slot machines in the betting and gambling world. The concept, RCI Integrity Services, would fall under the Association of Racing Commissioners International, and would be just like other electronic gambling, such as slot machines.

The NCLGS has unanimously agreed to support the concept, as they say electronic wagering on racing such as greyhounds or horses, is the same as slot machines or state lotteries. It answers the question of how to have safe wagering in a simulcast situation, and RCI will enable that concept.

There has been talk of adding something like this to the slot machine and video betting lineup, since they are all “independently monitored.” This would afford the simulcasting the same safety checks and balances that other forms of video gambling allow.

RCI President Ed Martin said that this is one of the most vulnerable areas of betting, and it is high time that someone figured out a way to correct that. Slot machines and lottery terminals have been working independently and securely this whole time, it was just a matter of time before someone figured out a way to do it with simulcasting as well.
