Cop Transferred Over Slot Machines
Bukit
Aman Criminal Investigation Division
Director Datuk Christopher Wan Soo Kee
is now in possession of 178 slot
machines. The slot machines were seized
during raids of seven different
entertainment establishments that
allowed illegal gambling. One of the
slot machine establishments was only 500
meters from the police station. They
also arrested 59 people in conjunction
with the slot machine raid.
Because of the proximity to the police
station and the number of slot machines
seized, Sekinchan Police Chief Inspector
Hasrul Mohd Salleh has been transferred
to the Selangor police headquarters. The
police chief said that he was being
transferred because he was allowing gambling to go on right under
his nose. He said that even if he did
not have knowledge of the actual slot
machines, he still wasn’t doing his job
well enough if it was going on.
Sabak Bernam district Police Chief
Superintendent Zamri Shamsuddin is also
being investigated in the slot machine
raids. The Chief said that this is an
example of what will happen if the
police do not crack down on illegal
activities, including slot machines and
gambling. The Anti-Corruption Agency is
also investigating the slot machine
parlors and how they came to be located
so closely to the police departments.
