Government Not Doing Enough about Slot
Machines
The
government is looking to do things that
would make our lives easier – and yet
they have decided to bring in slot
machines which are going to make things
much harder on a large group of people.
The sad fact is that the closer you are
to casino games the more likely you
will be to have a gambling addiction.
However, the government is glossing over
that fact, and instead is bringing in
more slot machines.
Many think that New Labour is constantly
sticking their nose in where it does not
belong, and thus many were surprised at
the lack of hands on time slot machine
gambling is getting. Many waited for
some sort of casino game gambling
addiction hot line, or posters, or
anything – but nothing came. Nothing
that is, except the Gambling Act, which
with it brings in more slot machines.
The Gambling Act will allow for
thousands of casino games to be running
24/7 paying out unlimited prizes, and
still no gambling addiction help to be
found. The government is waiting to
announce who the lucky town will be that
gets the new super casino, a slot
machine megastore of sorts – and many
areas want it. Not only that, but eight
other slot machine sites are going to be
licensed at the exact same time.
The Church and the medics think it is
absurd to bring in that many slot
machines and not be discussing the
social ills that are to follow. They
know the damage that slot machines can
do to a town, and are horrified that
they seem to be alone in their quest to
stop them. Even the local towns are
excited that they might be chosen, but
no one is thinking about the slot
machine problems that they are going to
have over time. They also aren’t
thinking about how much money those gambling addicts are going to
end up costing the government – the
people who will have created them in the
first place.
