Sanford Home to Illegal Slot Machines
The
police raided a Sanford garage and found
illegal gambling and a slot machine. The
Kendale Service Center at 1507 S. Horner
Blvd. was operating an illegal gambling
den, and the slot machine was just the
beginning of it.
The police found alcohol, poker chips,
gaming tables, a slot machine, cash, all
the things needed to run your own
gambling hall. In fact, one of the
tables was so large the owner had to
take down a wall for the police to get
it outside. The police seized the slot
machine and various gambling
paraphernalia, and charged the owner
with possession of gaming tables and
selling liquor without a license.
The owner, Michael Dana Anderson,
according to police had to know that
what he was doing was illegal. In
addition to the slot machine there was
also two video poker machines which were
legal. The police said that they had
received tips of illegal slot machines
and gambling, so they went in to
investigate. However, Anderson is
fighting the charges as he says someone
was storing the stuff there, and that it
was not his.
The Sheriff’s office isn’t buying the
story, they say that between the slot
machine, the tables, the alcohol, etc. –
this was an active gambling casino.
