Slot Machine Dens Discovered
In
what can only be perceived as an attempt
to tempt the gods, four slot machine
gambling dens were discovered right
under the noses of the police. Last
weekend an operation in Sekinchan
discovered four different slot machine
gambling dens within 100 meters of a
police station, and then less than 48
hours later another one was discovered
300 meters from the Kampung Baru Subang
police station.
The Subang slot machine den looked like
an internet café but had computers
installed with gambling software. When
the slot machine café was raided no one
was there except for one Bangladeshi
worker who they arrested. The police
said that it had been running for almost
a year and was a very popular hangout.
Needless to say the police at the
Sekinchan station have been brought
forth to answer questions as to why a
slot machine den could be operating
right under their noses. The Selangor
police chief said that he was not happy
with the explanation given by the
officer. This could mean dismissal or a
transfer for the officer in charge – as
is usually the case when gambling is
found in a police area.
All police chiefs have been warned that
if they did not keep a tight ship and
make sure that there was no slot machine
gambling in their district, there would
be consequences. The police have been
found guilty of turning their heads and
allowing these illegal slot machine
parlors to operate unimpeded.
Over the last six months the police have
been cracking down on slot machines and
gambling dens, trying to put an end to
what are quickly becoming an epidemic.
Between the other gambling dens the
police seized 241 slot machines.
