United
Way Benefits from Slot Machine Test
What a
better way to try out your slot machines
than by running them for charity? That
is exactly what happens next month as
the Presque Isle Downs choose to test
out their slot machines. The casino is
encouraged not to accept the money from
the slot machine test and instead donate
it to charity – the United Way of Erie
County just happens to be the
beneficiary of the revenue.
It is a little weird for an organization
that prides themselves on those that are
having a string of bad luck, but that is
what they will be hoping for next month
as the patrons put their money in the
slot machines. They will get the revenue
from 2,000 slot machines for two days –
February 11th and 13th.
The casino must run two test days to
ensure that the slot machines are
working correctly and that all employees
know what they are doing – and that they
seem to be able to handle themselves
with customers. It will be an
“invitation only” event to be one of the
first people to play the slot machines,
and the Board will then approve them for
opening once they see how they perform.
