WMS Slot Machines Getting New Home
WMS
Industries, Inc. has a new home planned,
they are taking their slot machine
company to new levels. They are taking
the slot machines’ headquarters and
expanding them 12,000 sq ft. The
expansion will cost the slot machine
innovator $12 million – but they say
they need it.
Scott Scheifurth, SVP and CFO of WMS
said that as they have been leasing
warehouse space to store their slot
machines, now they will be able to have
it all under one roof. He said as their
revenue grows, so does their need for
more places to make and design slot
machines.
WMS makes slot machines and video games
for casinos, and posted $3.3 million in
net profit for last year. These numbers
are impressive considering the history
of the slot machine company. Several
years ago they had some problems with
the software of one of their slot
machines that made it easy to hack into,
so the company went back to the drawing
board and came up with all new slot
machines and all new software to run
them.
One of the company’s highlights was when
a player hit their jackpot on the Clint
Eastwood Bronco Billy slot machine, and
won $1,029,298. The slot mahcine was
already popular as people like to play
it – due to the fact that you get to
play the role of Eastwood – but now that
it has hit a large jackpot it is even
more attractive.
