Machine Case Not Settled Yet
It is
common knowledge that slot machines from
time to time will malfunction and if you
are unlucky enough to be playing it at
that particular moment, you will not
have won what you think you have. There
have been many cases where someone was
playing the slot machine and it came up
saying that they had won a million or
more from the casino – only to find out
that this was not the case.
Over the years there have been many
clients who took their case to the
courts to order the casino to pay the
slot machine winnings. In most of those
cases, the casino was let off the hook,
as it says on each and every slot
machine that in case of malfunction the
casino doesn’t owe you a dime. As a rule
it is up to the casino to decide whether
or not to pay, and if it is a fairly
insignificant amount they usually will.
However, in the Mississippi case that is
before the courts right now, the case is
a little more complicated. The Florida
woman who is suing them hit a $1 million
jackpot at the slot machines at the IP
Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. It turned
out that one of the attendants
programmed the slot machine wrong,
leading to the faulty win. She should
only have been able to win $8,000 at the
most.
The gaming regulators in the state
agreed with the woman and ordered the
casino to pay her the winnings they felt
were due her. However, the casino argued
the case about the attendants and the
next court agreed with the casino. So
now the case is going to the state
Supreme Court for them to decide who is
in the right.
