Game Technology Going Strong
International Game Technology has made
some changes to their bottom line. The
slot machine manufacturer has worked
hard to get their company in the top
tier of slot machine creation,
manufacturing and distribution. IGT is
easily known the world over for their
slot machines, and currently hold at
least half of the world’s market share
for the games.
But
they are not immune when it comes to the
economy – everyone has been hit hard by
it, and many companies have already had
to go belly up. Let’s face it, if people
are having a hard time making their
bills, do you really think that they are
going to go hit the slot machines?
Probably not, but there are people who
will turn to tem in order to get away
from it all for awhile.
But
IGT is aware of this and have made some
changes to the way that they do
business, and are simply biding their
time and waiting for things to change
for them and for the economy as a whole.
They are reporting that they shipped out
11,200 slot machines during the last
quarter of the year, which is down from
where they have been in the past but is
probably way over what other companies
are handing out.
They
made $515.7 million in slot machine
revenue during the final quarter and
posted profits of $73.3 million. This is
fascinating and a testament to how the
company is operating these days. The
slot machine manufacturer posted
revenues of $601.6 million and profits
of $61.2 million the year before. This
shows how they have managed to cut costs
and make it a more efficient company.
