Lucky
Day?
John
Stephens considered himself a lucky guy.
And on July 7th he joined all of the
other gamblers in heading out to tracks,
casinos, slot machine parlors, etc. in
order to take advantage of the luckiest
day of the year, perhaps of their lives.
But John believed that he was special
because 7 was his personal lucky number
and was constantly discovering 7’s
everywhere he went.
So John drove from his home to the local
racetrack in hopes of being one of the
luckiest people in the world, on this
specific day. He had money in is pocket
and was looking for a sign, any sign,
that would tell him who he needed to bet
on.
John had just gotten his tax return
back, and it was for $777, another sign
that he was on the right track – so he
ran to the bank to cash the check and
get his money.
So John took his $777 dollars with him
to the track determined to turn it into
big bucks, and when he got there he was
surprised, and excited to find, that the
track had a horse running in the 7th
race called “Lucky Seven.”
John decided that you can’t beat those
odds and went to the window to bet on
Lucky 7 in the seventh race, and bet all
$777 on the race - and then waited for
the race to begin.
Imagine his surprise when Lucky 7, in
the seventh race, came in number 7.
