European Casinos Stricter

It is amazing how much stricter European Casinos are than American Casinos when it comes to gambling addiction. In Pennsylvania for example, there is a list that you can put your name on, voluntarily, to bar yourself from all of the casinos in Pennsylvania. In Switzerland you don’t really have a choice.

The casinos have a strict rule about gambling addiction, and it is their legal obligation to identify those that have a gambling addiction and ensure that they do not come back to the casino. Their employees are all trained to keep an eye out for gambling addicts, and once they see what they think is a person with a problem, they get their general manager who will speak to them about it.

Once the general manager speaks to them, they have the option of coming less often to the casinos, or to be put on the list of those that have a gambling addiction and must be barred from the countries 19 casinos. If the general manager feels that they should be on that list, the slot machine player or addict will not have a choice as to whether or not they are on the list.

Family members can even get involved. If they can show proof of how someone is spending their livelihood on slot machines and table games and making it difficult for the family to survive, the casinos will put them on the list. Once they are on the list, they will be barred from every casino in the country, and this they feel will keep them from getting themselves into any more trouble than they may already be in.
