Watch
for Slot Machines
Literally, they have created a watch for
slot machines, or perhaps a slot machine
for a watch? Those that like to play the
slot machines might be intrigued enough
to actually purchase one that fits on
their wrist. Especially if they have a
lot of money, and I mean a lot of money.
The 2007 Girard-Perregaux Collection was
recently unveiled in Geneva, and among
their offerings was a slot machine
watch. The watch is a Vintage 1945
Jackpot Tourbillon, which combines a
Tourbillon with a slot machine. It is
even in perfect proportion with the
Vintage 1945 case.
Everyone wanted to see the new slot
machine watch at the recent Salon
International Haute Horlogerie that was
held in Geneva, with everyone wanting to
pull the little lever to see if they
would hit the tiny jackpot. For the
reels on the watch actually spin, as you
pull the handle that is at the side of
the case, which is connected to a rack.
The rack slides up and when it hits the
high point the reels start spinning and
then the rack slides back down. The
stoppers get the reels to stop one by
one, which activates the striking
mechanism. There is only one jackpot
however, which is three bells in a row,
although there are 125 possible
combinations.
But, as mentioned before, if you want a
slot machine on your wrist, you are
going to have to have a lot of money –
RM2.1 million to be exact.
