Progressive Slot Machine Trial
Progressive Gaming International Corp.
has gotten approval of a new slot
machine jackpot system to be run as a
trial in Las Vegas. The slot machine
company said that they were pleased to
be able to do the field trial at several
locations in Vegas.
Progressive Gaming is a supplier of
casino management systems software and
games, and with this approval they can
start testing one of those slot machine
systems at several locations to see how
it works out and if it is something they
might be able to expand upon.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board had
given Progressive permission to test the
new software, it is their CasinoLink
Jackpot Staton, which is a hardware and
software product that links progressive
slot machine jackpots, whether they be
regular or “mystery.”
The slot machine trial will be hosted by
two Vegas casinos initially, but those
casinos will not be divulged to the
public. They will run the field trial
for sixty days, and 40 slot machines
will be linked in. Once the trial is
completed, the Board will rule on final
approval, and if given, Progressive will
be able to commercialize the program
immediately in Nevada.
The approval comes on the heels of the
announcement from Shuffle Master, Inc.
where they said that they are planning
on buying Progressive’s world wide table
game division.
