Machine Maker Bringing in Profits
International Game Technology, IGT, has
announced their fiscal third quarter net
earnings which went up 20%, surpassing
experts predictions. With higher slot
machine sales and gaming operations, the
company fared much better than the
experts said it would.
IGT has benefited from the recent boom
in slot machine purchasing that has gone
on, as more and more states offer slot
machines for their residents. They have
also benefited from the
ticket-in/ticket-out technology that so
many wanted as their clients all needed
to replace their old slot machines with
the new kind. The amount of slot
machines sold from these two events has
put IGT much higher this year than many
thought they would be.
However, experts say that these
opportunities ended up really being once
in a lifetime venues for slot machine
makers. Now that everyone has new slot
machines and more and more states have
already taken in the number of slot
machines that they are going to allow
for now, companies like IGT will see a
downfall in the trend that put them
making 20% more than last year.
In fact, more and more investors are
looking for other places to put their
money only for the simple fact that they
think the well is running dry. They
think that the majority of slot machines
have probably already been sold, so the
large increases that slot machine
manufacturers have been making up until
now were going to eventually decline.
