Construction Continues
One of
the best things about bringing in a new
slot machine casino to an area is the
number of jobs that will ultimately come
with it. There are the jobs that come as
a result of it being open – like dealers
and cashiers, and everyone who runs the
place – all the way down to the cleaners
and waste collectors.
But there is another group of jobs that
come into play before the casino
actually opens. They are of course, the
jobs that open the casino – those that
actually build it. Construction jobs are
great because they pay well and they
mean steady work for a few months for
everyone lucky enough to get on the job
site.
For example, the temporary slot machine
casino at Indiana Live! Casino is full
of cars almost all day and all night.
People stop in constantly to play the
slot machines on their way home from
work, or a night out, it varies
depending on the person.
But all the while there are a bunch of
construction workers building the
permanent casino which should open in
the beginning of 2009. The permanent
facility is going to have restaurants,
bars, entertainment venues, and of
course, slot machines. The new venue
will have 230,000 sq ft of entertainment
and gaming space – and it will all have
been as a result of those jobs no one
ever really thinks about unless you are
in the construction business.
