Macau
Market is Tough Nut to Crack
Ever
since Macau exploded on the slot machine
and gambling scene, people have been
vying for their position in the
industry. Casinos have been opening
faster than you can name them, and slot
machine manufacturers are killing
themselves to try and get their foot in
the door with their machines.
The $15 billion gaming industry over
there has all of the slot machine
companies running to put out their best
games so that they can grab their piece
of the pie. They are adding dancing
dragons, virtual horses, Chinese
commentary, etc. – anything they can
think of to grab their attention.
When Macau first started growing at
breakneck speed, many thought that this
would be the perfect opportunity to get
their slot machines in and grab a
foothold in Asia. The problem is that
everyone else had the same idea and it
is making it difficult at best to get
your foot in the door.
Not only that, but competition is even
tougher as the casinos are finding that
not that many people like the slot
machines. In fact, the casinos are
finding a much bigger push for gaming
tables – baccarat in particular.
Many of the casinos aren’t even putting
slot machines on their main floors – and
some are considering doing away with
them altogether. With the amount of slot
machines less than expected and the
amount of competition for those slot
machines more than expected, it is no
wonder that very few are getting these
much vied for spots.
