Just Ask the Board
If
you want to know how Nevada did last
year just ask the Gaming Control Board
of Nevada, for they just released the
figures for the casinos. The Nevada
Gaming Control Board says that Nevada
has experienced record highs in slot
machine and gambling revenue, and here
are the 2006 numbers as they compare to
2005:
In 2006:
Statewide: $12,622,044,087
Clark County: $10,643,823,522
Strip: $6,688,903,092
Downtown: $630,404,296
North Las Vegas: $314,425,841
Laughlin: $630,457,626
Boulder Strip: $929,691,928
Mesquite: $159,874,874
Balance of County: $1,290,065,895
Washoe County: $1,067,289,993
In 2005:
Statewide: $12,622,044,087
Clark County: $9,717,372,388
Strip: $6,033,907,590
Downtown: $654,147,657
North Las Vegas: $302,162,942
Laughlin: $621,179,928
Boulder Strip: $891,018,861
Mesquite: $142,821,709
Balance of County: $1,072,133,701
Washoe County: $1,048,858,631
Overall, there was an 8.3% increase in
slot machines and gambling, with the
Strip bringing in most of that which was
not covered under Balance of the County.
However, all but one area showed an
increase and that was Downtown, which
actually showed a decrease of 3.6% over
the previous year. That area known as
Balance of the County brought in more
than $1.2 million.
Experts say that the reason they had
problems downtown is because of the
construction near Golden Nugget and the
February closing of Lady Luck.
