Casino Dealer Class

Palomar College has come up with a great class, one that students are excited about, and always fills up. It is a casino class, in fact a class to learn to be a casino dealer. The classes are part of the new Palomar College’s Venture Program, a series of community courses offered by the school.

The school believes that there will be many openings for dealers within the next two or three years, and it is good for students to get the training they need in the classroom setting before heading out to the casino floor. One of the local casinos, Pala Casino Resort & Spa, thinks that the classes could not have come at a better time. They say they are currently looking to add to their amount of slot machines and table games, so these classes will get the next round of dealers ready.

They say that they currently have table games but no poker tables, but are planning on adding them with the expansion. Meanwhile, the students cannot wait to get to class. They say there is nothing better than starting their day with some blackjack, maybe some baccarat, then maybe finish up with a little Pai Gow poker – just the way to start the day!

The students say that they go to the other casinos, like Barona Resort & Casino, and they know how to play the games. However, they say dealing the game is completely different from playing. They were amazed at how much people tried to cheat the dealer, and how aware they had to be of every little detail while dealing. They say one of the biggest differences is how the game is played and how much they must interact with the players. If it is poker, not really at all; but if it is many of the other games there is much more interaction expected.
